Native to the Amazon basin with its range being in Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela, Paraguay, and northern Argentina.
The leaves are heart shaped and form a pockets on each side of the midrib that traps air and helps plants maintain the plant afloat. 
Roots can be up too 5 cm long and can have vibrant red colors. 
The leaves can also have a pinkish reddish hue to them. 
These plants don't require specific lighting conditions and are very hardy.
Portions will include atleast 12 leaves.
