  • It was named after the island in Indonesia, which can be found between Sumatra and Bali. 
  • In the wild they grow naturally in jungles, waterfalls, river banks, and most fresh water environments. It can survive in slightly brackish waters as well.
  • Java moss does well in a wide range of pH, and doesn't require CO2.
  • This plant makes a great hiding spot for fish fry and other small and shy aquarium dwellers.
